		<description>The designers will continue 'fiddling' until those who sign the checks demand and get some measurable and verifiable return. There are measures for clickouts, but none for load time, so there's neither incentive to optimize, nor disincentive to look creative and maybe win some awards. Besides, where is a visitor to go, to another 'fiddled' site?

		<description>Excellent points, Bob, especialy re: "the online magazine that makes me navigate through multiple links in order to increase its page views." I also abandon a site when pop-ups repeatedly intrude, especially those that claim to be usability surveys but are clearly aimed at gathering fodder for ad sales. Three months later, the site is slower and more cluttered, if anything.</description>
